Superb eco-friendly family cottage plan offering 3 to 5 bedrooms and up to 3 family rooms!
Inspired by our Touchstone 3 (plan 2957-V3) house plan, the Touchstone-Eco is an eco-friendly and revised version. The windows have been updated to make it a passive solar house.
Best suited for a southern backyard orientation, this home preserves the defining features of the original plan while offering new, more optimal and eco-friendly ideas. First of all, on the ground floor we find the entrance followed by a large open area with cathedral ceiling. The back of the house has a generous number of windows to welcome natural light coming from the south. In front of the house there is the master suite with a walk-in closet and an ensuite.
Upstairs, a beautiful mezzanine with an office space overlooks the living room. We also find two large bedrooms and a bathroom.
* Finished basement (optional $):
If you decide to finish the basement, we offer the addition of two additional large bedrooms of good size (possibility of 5 bedrooms) each with a walk-in closet. Then a spacious family room (the 3rd), a storage room with shelves and mechanical room area, and a shower room to complete this basement development proposal which is optional.

Ecological house plan
There are many elements that can be added to a home to make it eco-friendly. For all the plans in our ecological collection, we identify the intended orientation of the house on the ground (see the logo in the image). In addition, all the plans in this collection include a wall section specific to this type of construction. Therefore, to ensure superior insulation, the walls are made of a double frame of 2x4 spaced 24 inches apart. The amount of wood needed is therefore similar to that of a traditional house that uses 2x6 spaced every 16 inches. In addition, these two walls are also staggered in order to cut thermal bridges as much as possible, that is to say the continuous elements that create heat losses from the inside to the outside of the house. The insulation material used in this wall cut is squirt cellulose. This is a 100% recycled material that perfectly hugs each of the cavities in the wall for optimal insulation. You have questions? Often located above the garage, our storage areas are used only as storage and are usually accessible from the garage via a retractable staircase.
