Material list

Our house plans with building material list includes the quantity of the majority of the materials required for your construction purpose, thus facilitating the bid request process. Only finishing materials, decoration and some contracted work are excluded. A list of building materials is available for each of our house plans, as well as for all of our custom home plans and renovation/addition plans. Consult our PDF document to learn all the information on what is included and excluded from our material list.

To order your PDF (or print) list of materials from a model selected from one of our plan collections, simply select the option in your shopping cart or request it when placing your phone order. For your custom plan or renovation plan, mention it during your discussions with one of our representatives and you will get a free quote for your custom materials list.

Right reading reverse

A right reading reverse house plan is a home design that is a flipped or reverse, image of an original base plan including also the floor plans. A right reading house and floor plan(s) is also known as a full reverse house plan and floor plan(s). Home designs with right reading reverse blueprints (or PDF files) are much more easier to follow. This option is often selected to take advantage of the natural light on your construction lot.


BCIN certification (Ontario residents)

Since January 1st of 2006, The Ontario Provincial Government's Bill 124 bas been in effect. As a result, a Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) must now appear on all drawings being submitting for a building permit.

We have received the necessary training and are able to provide this certification, sometimes with a slight delay and an additional fee.

The additional fees are:

  • Multi family house plans

  • Heated garage plan
(otherwise, BCIN certification is not required.)

Licences for designers and technicians

The Canadian Copyright Act prohibits anyone from reproducing an architectural work (house plan) without first obtaining a licence for that purpose from the copyright holder.

More specifically, if you are a draftsperson, architectural technologist, or architect, and your client asks you to modify or reproduce a plan from the Drummond House Plans collection, you are required to contact us to obtain a plan modification licence.

The cost of this licence varies depending on the complexity of the model and ensures that you may use the Drummond House Plans design without risk of legal action from our company.

Multiple-build (or re-use) licence

A multiple-build licence are mainly for single-family home builders or developers who want to build more than one house from the same plan. If you are a new home builders and are planning to build more than one house with the sale plan, you will require a licence for building multiple homes from a single plan. Please contact us as we have special packages available for multi-build licences and many more discounts and advantages for home builders.
