House plan Kief Small chalet or compact eco-friendly house plan, 2 to 4 bedrooms, cathedral, optional finished basement ($)
Other useful information on this plan
Eco-friendly and sustainable home with absolute rest in a sun bath
With its south-facing facade, this house will bathe in natural light at any time of the day.
The upper floor of this 884 square ft. home, house plan KIEF (#90100) is composed of a large open area including a kitchen with island, a large dining room and a living room perfectly oriented for the sunsets. The cathedral ceiling of the house gives it a warm atmosphere and will give your home a unique character. The configuration of this house is perfect for entertaining friends and family in addition to allowing you to arrange the space according to your needs.
In the finished basement (*optional $), we find 2 bedrooms, a family room, a shower room and a laundry room. Contrary to what one might think, having the bedrooms in the basement is very pleasant due to its large windows. These rooms will therefore have greater privacy, since they are less exposed while receiving a lot of natural light. In addition, the temperature will be cooler for a restful sleep even on hot summer nights.
KIEF was designed for its unifying open space, since it is the place where we spend the most time and where we need the most space. This welcoming house is perfect for building your family nest.
*If you wish to purchase the finished basement plan, please select this option in the shopping cart, in the "Selection of foundation type" section. If you do not select this option, you will receive the unfinished full basement option, at no extra charge.
Ecological house plan
There are many elements that can be added to a home to make it eco-friendly. For all the plans in our ecological collection, we identify the intended orientation of the house on the ground (see the logo in the image). In addition, all the plans in this collection include a wall section specific to this type of construction. Therefore, to ensure superior insulation, the walls are made of a double frame of 2x4 spaced 24 inches apart. The amount of wood needed is therefore similar to that of a traditional house that uses 2x6 spaced every 16 inches. In addition, these two walls are also staggered in order to cut thermal bridges as much as possible, that is to say the continuous elements that create heat losses from the inside to the outside of the house. The insulation material used in this wall cut is squirt cellulose. This is a 100% recycled material that perfectly hugs each of the cavities in the wall for optimal insulation. You have questions?
