Nordic style home with a touch of modern rustic with wood beams on the front elevation

Difficult not to succumb to the charms of this new house that looks both modern and rustic and also features Nordic elements that recall the warmth we love of our cottages!

At the entrance of the house we find a large closet that is slightly secluded from the living room in order to keep the cold away from common areas. The living room (or family room) and the dining room are open and located side by side. In the center of these two spaces, there is a hearth fireplace and a cathedral ceiling with the possibility of beams exposed to the ceiling.
The dining room has a patio door leading to the backyard where you can eventually set up the patio of your dreams! Being open to the kitchen, the dining room allows good circulation and communication between the occupants and the cook! The kitchen has an island of 3 'x 6’ to comfortably accommodate 3 people at a time.

The master bedroom offers 2 closets, and plenty of natural light. It is located next to the complete family bathroom. This same bathroom offers a very efficient layout with large shower with separate bath on one side and toilet, sink and linen on the other.

The secondary bedroom has a walk-in of good size, very practical with no space loss in the room seeing as it is adjacent to the kitchen's pantry. This room can have different vocations such as a home office, a wreck room, a workshop, a storage room or any other type of space you may need. You decide!

We thought of an efficient basement layout for the future. The suggestion is included in the plan you will receive but is not calculated in the construction costs offered on our site. So you have the choice to finish your basement or not.

This plan is part of a collection of ecological house plans and therefore is has wall composition with better energy efficiency. To ensure superior insulation for each of our ecological homes, the walls are made of a double frame of 2x4 spaced 24 inches apart. The amount of wood needed is therefore similar to that of a traditional house that uses 2x6 spaced every 16 inches. In addition, these two walls are also staggered in order to cut thermal bridges as much as possible, that is to say the continuous elements that create heat losses from the inside to the outside of the house. The insulation material used in this wall cut is squirt cellulose. It is a 100% recycled material that perfectly hugs each of the wall cavities for optimal insulation.
